Warren Witt's property outlook for the remainder of 2009

This week marks the birthday of Witt Property Group Founder and Director Warren Witt. Happy Birthday Warren!

After developing extensive knowledge and skills via a number of roles during his 30-year career in the property development industry, Warren branched out on his own in 1997 to create Oasis Developments. From that point the business continued to grow until it was officialy branded the Witt Property Group in 2006.

Despite all the recession talk at the moment, espeically with regard to the local property industry, Warren's outlook for the remainder of 2009 is optimistic.

"Now is not the time to drop housing prices prices in order to sell," says Warren.

"Australia is currently experiencing a nation-wide housing shortage - and if you hold out you'll get the price you want."

Warren say the best advice he can give at the moment is don't auction your property "it reeks of liquidation".

If you are getting bombarded, tell the agents to sell the cheaper products and come back to you.

Warren has had a significant impact on the property development industry during his career. He played a key role in the construction of the exclusive Marina Mirage, Port Douglas which won "Best Tourism Development in Australia" award.

In 1989 Warren was also awarded with the Noosa Council's prestigious environmental award for "Retention of Natural Vegetation" for Villa Pacific.

Warren can also be creidted with with restructuring government thinking towards conservation areas and erosion control zones at Mission Beach. During the development application stages at Ziva Spa Resorts, Mission Beach, Warren successfully introduced a system of tripartite covenants between local and state government and his property development company.

Warren was a pioneer in achieving an Initial Advice Statement (IAS) for Ella Bay; a $1.5 billion master-planned community. The development was declared a state significant project and, most notably, set a precedent for being the only project of state significance listed for residential and tourism.

Warren hopes to continue to expand the Witt Property Group over the next 5 - 10 years at a sustainable pace.

Until next time,

Witt Property Group
